ID scanning

ID scanning is achieved by adding a regular question to your check-in form.

This means that you can set whether only the main guest needs to provide an image of their ID, or if all guests need to.

Note that this provides only an image of the ID; OCR (optical character recognition) is not supported.

To add document scanning as a question:

  1. Go to your check-in form in the app. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click Add question.
  2. Select Document copy as the question type.
  3. Add some suitable Question text in each language active in your system.
  4. Set whether all guests must provide their ID, or just the main guest.
  5. Set whether the question is mandatory or not.
  6. Click Save changes when you're done.

How does the experience work for the guest?

If the guest is using their mobile device to check in, they will be prompted to either upload an existing image of their ID, or to take a photo of their ID.

If a guest is using their computer to check in, they are prompted only to upload an existing image.

Where do I see the ID images?

In GuestJoy, the ID image(s) will be included in the guest's profile page:

Click the image to see it full size and to save it, if required.

The ID images will also be included as attached image files in the check-in notification email that is sent as per your settings.

Digital signature

Digital signature is enabled by adding a question to your form, however, signing will always be the last stage when the guest is completing the form.

To add digital signature to your form:

  1. Go to your check-in form in the app. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click Add question.
  2. Select Signature as the question type.
  3. Add some suitable Question text in each language active in your system.
  4. Set whether the question is mandatory or not.
  5. Click Save changes when you're done.

How does the experience work for the guest?

Once the guest has entered all their information on the check-in form, the last stage before they submit the form will be the digital signature.

If the guest is using their mobile device to check in, they can sign using their finger on the screen of their device.

If a guest is using their computer to check in, they can sign using their computer's mouse or touch pad.

Where do I see the signature?

In GuestJoy, the signature will be included in the guest's profile page:

The signature will also be included as an attached image file in the check-in notification email that is sent as per your settings.
